Robert Altman
President and CEO

Robert Altman joined WMHT as President in 2007. He brings more than 20 years of experience in public broadcasting to the position, having served most recently as Director of the Public Television Major Giving Initiative.

From 1999 to 2003 he served as Senior Vice President, Development and Corporate Relations for the Public Broadcasting Service, directing a wide variety of services in support of station development efforts, managing PBS's relationships with corporations and foundations and supervising the PBS research department.

He came to PBS following a sixteen-year career in public television and radio at WHYY in Philadelphia. As Senior Vice President for Development and Marketing he directed all of WHYY's fundraising activity, including a major capital campaign for digital conversion, and managed the stations' strategic planning and business development efforts as well.

Prior to his work in public broadcasting, Mr. Altman served as Managing Director of the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey and General Manager of the Pennsylvania Ballet.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Kenyon College, he holds a Masters Degree from the Catholic University of America. The father of two grown daughters, he lives in Columbia County with his wife Patricia, an historic preservation consultant, and their son Jack.


Julie Raskin
Vice President of Finance and Accounting

Julie Raskin joined WMHT in May 1993 as Business Manager with responsibility for supervision of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Cash Receipts, preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, administration of employee benefits and insurance plans, and monitoring of the annual audit. In addition, she is responsible for the preparation of all government and state annual reports such as 990s, CPB, Charities Registration, and for the monitoring of WMHT investments. She supervises three employees in the business office and reports directly to the President and General Manager.

Prior to joining WMHT, Ms. Raskin served as Financial Analyst from 1987 to 1989 and as Senior Financial Analyst from 1989 to 1992 at Garden Way in Troy. From 1985 to 1987, she served as Assistant to the President at Power Kinetics. At CBS in New York, Ms. Raskin served as Financial Analyst from 1981 to 1982 and was promoted to Manager Capital where she served until 1985.

Ms. Raskin earned her MBA at the Graduate School of Business Administration at New York University and her BA at Cornell University.


Sandra Beer
Development Officer

Sandra Beer joined WMHT's development staff in 2009  with responsibilities for annual gifts at the Edison Society leadership level, capital and planned gifts.

Prior to joining WMHT, Ms. Beer worked for 15 years in a variety of development positions at CARE USA in Atlanta, GA and Darrow School and Powell House in Columbia County, NY. Before working in the non-profit development sector, Ms. Beer worked at National Data Corporation for 5 years in marketing and administrative positions.

Ms. Beer earned her MBA and Master of Divinity degrees at Emory University in Atlanta, GA after earning a BA degree in Political Science and Religious Studies from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.

Sandra has served on a number of non-profit boards including The Friends Meeting House Fund and, the Guilford College Alumni Association Board and the local chapter board for the Association for Fundraising Professionals. She resides in Columbia County, NY with her daughter.
